Big Brother and Big Sister To Be T-Shirts are Big Business
St. Louis, MO Feb. 20, 2008 - An exciting event for many parents-to-be is deciding how and when to share baby news with family and friends. Whether this is the second or the fifth addition to the family, the desire and sometimes, the pressure to create a unique pregnancy announcement is great.
Zoey's Attic is an online retailer which specializes in providing products designed to help spread the news in fun and creative ways. Erin Delanty, founder of Zoey’s Attic recognized the need to get older brothers and sisters involved in the big event and launched an “announcement department” which contains a wide range of big brother/big sister-to-be T shirt designs.
There are shirts to match every little boy or girl's interest; For example, planes, trains and dinosaurs may appeal to big brothers while big sisters can choose a princess, flower, or butterfly design. The most popular include a 'surprise' element. The front features a message such as
'I have a secret...' or 'I know something you don't know…' while the back reveals the big news – 'I'm going to be a big brother [or sister]!”
Erin explains, “It’s really a fun and surprising way to spread the news at a family gathering to a room full of people at once.”
Customer feedback has been positive. One woman wrote the following about her son's involvement in their pregnancy announcement. “We had him stand on a chair so everyone in my family, about 20 people or so, could guess what his 'secret' was. They had to wait to see the back of my son’s shirt and then the eruption of congratulations and questions began. I loved it and so did he! ”
Zoey’s Attic was officially launched in November 2006 by creator and owner, Erin Delanty. The inspiration for the website came shortly after Erin and her husband welcomed their first child in August of that year. In addition to providing parents-to-be with creative ideas and products for baby announcements, Zoey’s Attic also offers an ever-increasing variety of family gifts and apparel.
